Commission a Bolo That's Part of You

Bring me your shell, your keepsake, or just an idea — and become part of making something one of a kind.

A finished commission — built around one shell, for one person.

There's something different about a commissioned piece. A finished work carries a part of the artist who made it — but a commission carries a part of you, too. Your idea, your keepsake, your story, woven into something that didn't exist in the world until the two of us decided it should.

And here's the part people don't expect: when you commission a piece, you become an artist yourself. You don't need to know how to polish a shell or braid a cord. All it takes is an idea — a vision for something that has never existed — and suddenly you're a creator. I just get to be the hands that bring it to life.

One of a kind, by definition

A commission is about as one-of-a-kind as anything can be. There's only one of your idea, only one of your keepsake, and only one of the piece we make from them. It can never be repeated — because it began with you.

I know the feeling from the other side

I recently commissioned a large stained-glass piece from a friend and fellow artist here on the island. Handing over my idea and watching someone I trust turn it into something real — something that's now a part of my home and my story — reminded me exactly why commissions are so special. I want to give you that same feeling.

How we'd work together

It starts with a conversation. Maybe you bring me a shell you found on a trip, a keepsake you can't part with, or simply a feeling you'd like a piece to hold. We talk it through, and I build the whole bolo around it — by hand, one at a time.

I'll care for your piece as if it were my own — because for the time we're working together, it is. I can't promise perfection; nothing made by hand ever is, and honestly, that's part of its soul. But I do promise this: we'll work together until it's the perfect piece for you.

"All it takes is an idea — the rest, we make together."

Ready when you are

If you have a shell, a keepsake, or even just a spark of an idea, I'd love to hear it. Let's make something that's part you, part me, and entirely one of a kind.
